Oliver's Mount Press Conference 2017

On Friday 13th January, the organisers of Oliver's Mount road races held a press conference to launch their 2017 season.

Held at the Royal Hotel in Scarborough, Friday 13th tried its hardest to disrupt the evening, but it was to no avail! Waking up to snow covered roads, ice and the threat of flooding on Scarborough sea front (which was reported on during the national news throughout the day), the evening looked to be on the rocks during the morning.

With all the riders confirmed, we were able to confirm everything through our social media and the show went on. Thankfully all the invited press attended and plenty of fans were queueing at the door ready to see the show.

With Ivan Lintin, Dean Harrison, Daley Mathieson, James Cowton, Mick Grant, Conrad Harrison and Tony Thirkell in attendance and host Scott Beaumont along with circuit commentator Tony Coupland ready to entertain, the scene was set for a great evening of entertainment.

The evening began with the press conference. Marketing director Scott Beaumont reviewed the 2016 season and then outlined all the plans for 2017 including: all 4 events being filmed for ITV4, continued Eurosport TV coverage and the TV shows being available on our official youtube channel: www.youtube.com/oliversmountracing in due course.

The 2017 circuit partners were also confirmed (which will be released here in the coming weeks) and plans for the future of road racing in Scarborough.

After a small interval the chat show began. I think it's fair to say that the stories told by Conrad Harrison and Mick Grant will remain in that evening, but it is safe to say that everyone in the rooms was in hysterics! Plenty of detail from solo stars Lintin, Harrison, Mathieson and Cowton plus a few words from their girlfriends too!

The cost of the evening was reduced to £5 due to the fact emails had been received by 4 top world stars were all summoned to team testing etc. and were not able to attend. this saved the club a couple of thousand pound and the prize changed at the beginning of the week. The club was very happy with the attendance with the room being half full.

All in all an amazing evening and we can't wait to get the season underway.
